The Marantz AMP 30 is a low-profile power amplifier with six channels, designed and manufactured at the company's Shirakawa Audio Works in Japan. It was introduced together with the AV 30 preamplifier processor and went on sale in January 2026 at USD 4,000, GBP 3,500 and EUR 4,000. In the current range it sits below the 16-channel AMP 10 and the 12-channel AMP 20, and Marantz intends it either as a partner for the AV 30 or as extra power inside an existing Marantz system, for example dedicated amplification for the front channels of a CINEMA 30 setup.

Key specs that matter

Marantz rates each channel at 200 W into 8 ohms at 1 kHz with 0.05% THD and two channels driven, and at 400 W into 4 ohms at 0.7% THD. With five channels driven into 8 ohms the figure stays at 200 W at 0.7%. Bridging pairs of channels gives three channels of 400 W into 8 ohms. The case measures 442 x 442 x 112 mm and weighs about 10 kg. Power consumption is 300 W in use, 70 W in ECO mode with no signal and 0.2 W in standby, and it comes only in black.

Engineering and use context

The input stages use Marantz HDAM circuitry with current feedback, and they feed high-efficiency Class D output stages - the Class D approach is what lets six high-power channels fit into such a low case. The supply is built around a shielded transformer, and quiet cooling fans are placed inside the chassis. Every channel has both a balanced XLR and an unbalanced RCA input, with a selector switch deciding which one is active, and the outputs use six pairs of SPKT-1+ speaker terminals. Besides normal six-channel operation and the bridged BTL mode, a bi-amp mode lets pairs of channels drive the high and low sections of up to three loudspeakers separately. The metal front panel carries the Marantz porthole with a softly lit level meter, while sidelights illuminate the fascia. Auto power off is included, and the warranty in the United States and Canada runs for five years.

Pairing

Connected to a Marantz AV separate such as the AV 30, AV 20 or AV 10 through the supplied link cable, the AMP 30 can be controlled from the processor, with power and illumination settings following it. A remote control cable is also in the box, and custom installers get RS232, an IR flasher input, the Marantz Remote Bus and one DC trigger input and output. Further AMP 30, AMP 20 or AMP 10 units can be added when a speaker layout grows beyond six channels.
