The TIDAL x BUGATTI MA1 is a monoblock from the German company TIDAL, created in collaboration with Bugatti as part of the Royale collection. Announced in September 2026, it replaces the TIDAL Assoluta Monobloc and is described by the manufacturer as its new reference power amplifier. Every MA1 is made to order in consultation with the buyer, so no fixed list price was published and the specification of each amplifier is agreed individually before production.
Key specs that matter
Rated output is 420 W into 8 ohm, 840 W into 4 ohm and 1,500 W into 2 ohm, so between 8 and 4 ohm the figure rises twofold. Bandwidth extends from 1 Hz to beyond 250 kHz within 0.5 dB. Each chassis measures 69 x 52 x 41 cm and weighs 110 kg, and finishes can be ordered in any colour combination the customer specifies.
Engineering and use context
TIDAL concentrated a large share of the engineering work on the power supply, treating it as the foundation of the amplifier. Three toroidal transformers of 1,000 VA each are magnetically shielded and mechanically decoupled from the chassis, and total capacitance reaches 800,000 microfarads built from long-life capacitors. The supply is regulated and active, with linear voltage stabilisation intended to remove ripple before it reaches the amplification stages. The circuit follows a fully symmetrical topology with hand-selected, cross-matched transistors. The input is DC-coupled, so the audio path carries no coupling capacitors, and the circuit boards are multilayer designs with 105 micrometres of copper on each layer. Fault protection is handled by the TIDAL APM system, short for amplifier protection management, which sits completely outside the signal path. The maker also states that the damping factor was optimised across the full audio band rather than at a single frequency.
Pairing
A pair of MA1 chassis is needed for a stereo system, and their weight calls for a solid floor position or a dedicated platform close to the loudspeakers. The high output into 2 ohm makes them suitable for large, low-impedance floorstanding speakers, including the TIDAL for Bugatti Royale loudspeaker from the same collection. A TIDAL preamplifier completes the chain within one brand, and the matched finishes of the Royale range allow the whole system to be specified in one colour scheme.
Alternatives
The TIDAL Assoluta Monobloc is the mono power amplifier that the MA1 succeeds in the brand catalogue.
