The MTRX2 V2 is a mono power amplifier from the Canadian company EMM Labs and a reworked version of the MTRX2. The original MTRX2 and the 1500 W MTRX are now listed as legacy products, and EMM's current amplifier range consists of the MTRX2 V2 and the MTRS stereo amplifier. Engineering and use context

The circuit is solid-state Class A/B, built from proprietary fully discrete stages, and the signal path is fully balanced from input to output. A latest-generation proprietary power system and a high-current stage EMM calls the Meitner Power Driver deliver the current for the output devices, and the amplifier handles loads down to 1 ohm. The circuit boards are made from aerospace-grade ceramic, a material with stable electrical properties and good heat conduction. Real-time protection monitors the amplifier during operation. Internal wiring is by Kimber Kable. The two sets of binding posts allow bi-wiring from a single amplifier. The high slew rate means the output can follow fast signal changes at full power, and the full-power bandwidth extends far beyond the audible range. As a monoblock, each unit supplies one channel, so a stereo system needs two.

Pairing

With its power reserve and stability into very low impedances, a pair of MTRX2 V2 drives any loudspeaker, including large low-impedance designs. EMM Labs' own DACs and preamplifiers feed the XLR socket, and the voltage gain suits sources and preamplifiers with standard output levels. The high-impedance RCA input accepts single-ended sources without loading them.
