The TP101 A30 is a special-edition valve integrated amplifier made in Presov, Slovakia, by Canor Audio, issued to mark thirty years of tube amplifier building by the company. It takes its name and concept from the original TP101, which Canor introduced in 1995, and deliveries of the new version were scheduled to begin in January 2026. The design pairs an EL34 output stage with a built-in headphone amplifier in a case made of real wood and stainless steel, offered in light wood and dark wood variants.

Key specs that matter

Each channel produces 35 W at 1% distortion, and the rating is the same into 4 and 8 ohm loads. Gain is 30 dB into 4 ohm and 33 dB into 8 ohm, with an input sensitivity of 380 mV and an input impedance of 30 kOhm. Canor lists a frequency range of 18 Hz to 55,000 Hz at -0.3 dB. Total harmonic distortion stays below 0.025% into 8 ohm at 1 kHz and 1 W, rising to below 0.1% at 5 W, while noise sits more than 96 dB below signal. The damping factor is 6.5 into 4 ohm and 7 into 8 ohm. Five pairs of RCA inputs serve line sources, and one fixed-level RCA pair feeds a recorder or external processor. The 6.3 mm headphone jack delivers 2 W into 30 ohm or 4 W into 300 ohm. The chassis measures 450 x 185 x 390 mm and weighs 23 kg net, or 35 kg packed. Mains supply is 230 V at 50 to 60 Hz, with a rated consumption of 290 VA.

Engineering and use context

Canor built the circuit as a push-pull class AB design in ultralinear configuration. Four EL34 pentodes form the output stage and four ECC81 double triodes act as drivers. Output transformers are Canor's own design and use permalloy cores, a nickel-iron alloy. A voltage stabilisation circuit watches the incoming mains and holds the tubes inside their intended operating voltage range. The internal frame is a 2 mm iron structure with anti-vibration damping, signal paths use silver-plated wiring, and coupling capacitors come from Mundorf. The circuit boards are produced with Canor's patented CMT milling process, which removes board material around the signal traces so that the dielectric loss factor approaches that of air.

Pairing

A rating that holds into low impedances, together with a low damping factor, points to loudspeakers with an easy load and reasonable efficiency. Line-level sources like a CD transport with DAC or a network streamer connect directly, and records need an external phono stage, as the TP101 A30 has no phono input. The headphone output covers both low and high impedance models.

Alternatives

Within the same catalogue, the Canor Virtus I4S uses transistor output stages and adds a phono stage and XLR input.
