The Vincent SV-737MK is a Class-A hybrid stereo integrated amplifier in the tubeLine series and the current version of the SV-737. Vincent kept the core circuitry of the predecessor and reworked the connections, replacing the built-in Wi-Fi module with an HDMI ARC port so that a television can feed the stereo system directly. The European price is EUR 3,299, and black and silver versions are available.

Key specs that matter

Vincent specifies 2 x 180 W RMS into 8 ohm and 2 x 300 W RMS into 4 ohm, with the first 10 W per channel into 8 ohm delivered in pure Class A. Frequency response is 20 Hz to 20 kHz within 0.3 dB and extends to 50 kHz within 1 dB. Total harmonic distortion is below 0.02 percent, and the S/N ratio exceeds 90 dB. Input sensitivity is 300 mV with 47 kOhm input impedance. Maximum power consumption reaches 590 W, and the amplifier weighs 21 kg in a case 430 mm wide, 165 mm high and 430 mm deep.

Engineering and use context

A transistor output stage is driven by a valve front end. Two 6N2P double triodes work in the preamplifier stage, while a pair of 6N1P tubes handles the driver and buffer stages. The high-voltage stabilisation for the tube section borrows solutions from the Vincent SA-T7MK preamplifier and includes an 85A2 voltage-reference tube. Analogue sources connect through five stereo RCA inputs, and digital sources through two optical and two coaxial S/PDIF inputs, with Bluetooth for wireless playback and HDMI ARC for a TV. A stereo Main In gives direct access to the power amplifier section, so in bypass mode the SV-737MK works as a power amplifier under the control of an external preamplifier. The tone control can be bypassed. On the output side, RCA sockets carry the Pre Out and Rec Out signals, joined by two 3.5 mm power control sockets and four sets of speaker terminals, which serve two pairs of loudspeakers through a speaker selector.

Pairing

A TV with an ARC-capable HDMI socket hands its audio to the amplifier over one HDMI lead. Where a separate preamplifier is already in use, its output can be routed to the Main In and the SV-737MK then acts purely as a power amplifier. A further power amplifier can be fed from the Pre Out, and the power control sockets link switching with other Vincent components. For vinyl, an outboard phono stage is required, and the tubeLine PHO-701 is Vincent's matching option.
