The Int One mkII is an integrated amplifier from Alluxity, the Danish brand created by Alexander Vitus Mogensen, whose family runs Vitus Audio. It updates the Int One, which was Alluxity's best-selling product in North America, with a redesigned, fully balanced preamplifier and a new volume control. It was launched in April 2021 at a US price of USD 9,500.
Key specs that matter
Output is 200 W into 8 ohms, 400 W into 4 ohms and 800 W into 2 ohms, in Class AB. Sources connect through two XLR and three RCA pairs. One pair of RCA outputs allows bi-amplification. Volume is relay controlled in 1 dB steps from -79 dB to +13 dB. The chassis is milled from a solid block of aluminium, with a touchscreen interface. Total gain is +38 dB, THD+N stays below 0.01% and signal-to-noise exceeds 100 dB. Bandwidth extends beyond 800 kHz at -3 dB, output impedance is 75 milliohms and idle consumption with no load is under 50 W. The unit measures 43.5 x 10.5 x 33.5 cm and weighs 17.5 kg.
Engineering and use context
In the mkII, the preamplifier section was redesigned to be fully balanced, so the amplifier is now balanced from input to output. Alluxity cites the benefits as a lower noise floor, lower distortion, wider bandwidth and 6 dB more gain. The new volume control uses more relays, so steps of 1 dB extend across a wider range, with almost three times the sensitivity settings of the original, useful both in large rooms and in small, damped spaces where low listening levels are needed. Relay volume switches fixed resistors in and out, avoiding the tracking error and wear of a potentiometer. All improvements were made without changing the chassis, so original Int One amplifiers can be upgraded to mkII. The design follows the same topology as Alluxity's Pre and Power amplifiers, with fully discrete balanced modules and zero global feedback. Alluxity deliberately leaves out streaming and phono modules to keep the unit focused on amplification. Its layout is modular, so sections can be serviced separately. Finishes include black, white, titanium grey and orange. Alluxity's touchscreen shows input and volume. Upgrades of existing Int One units were offered at minimal cost.
Pairing
With its high current reserve into low impedances, the Int One mkII drives demanding floorstanders. The RCA output allows a second power amplifier, such as Alluxity's Power Two, for bi-amping.
Alternatives
Alluxity has no other integrated amplifier model, and its separates built on the same topology start with the Pre One preamplifier.
