The A-i130 NOVA is a hybrid integrated amplifier from Advance Paris that combines a valve preamplifier stage built around an ECC81 tube with a Class AB power section. The EAN codes are 3760179292602 for grey and 3760179292695 for black. It also includes a DAC, a DSP and a range of digital inputs, and comes in grey or black. An ALPS potentiometer handles attenuation, and the REM-21 infrared remote is shared with the A-i190 models and operates the main functions from the listening seat.
Key specs that matter
Rated output is 133 W per channel into 8 ohm and 200 W into 4 ohm at 1 kHz with both channels driven at 1 percent THD+N. Across 20 Hz to 20 kHz with THD+N below 0.07 percent, the figures are 125 W into 8 ohm and 186 W into 4 ohm. Distortion is 0.042 percent at 1 kHz and 90 W into 8 ohm, and SNR reaches 104 dB with the same load and level, and frequency response runs from 20 Hz to 80 kHz at 31 W into 8 ohm. The case measures 43 cm wide, 17.5 cm high and 35.1 cm deep. It weighs 13.3 kg net and 17.25 kg in its box.
Engineering and use context
The hybrid concept keeps valve gain in the preamplifier section and leaves current delivery to transistors. The Class AB stage draws from a 380 VA toroidal transformer, and the mains input is switchable between 115 and 230 V at 50 or 60 Hz. Digital conversion is handled by an ESS9017S DAC in Quad mode, which merges eight channels into four analog paths, and an ADAU1452 four-channel DSP processes the signal. Formats reach PCM 24/192 and DSD64 or DSD128. Digital inputs are three optical, one coaxial, one USB and HDMI eARC, and the A-NTC and A-BTC modules add network streaming and Bluetooth reception when installed, so the base unit can be upgraded later. Both finishes carry the same specification. On the analog side there are one XLR input, a moving magnet phono stage and five RCA line inputs. Two expansion slots are fitted at the rear, and two 12 V trigger connections are provided for system control.
Pairing
Outputs include an RCA pre-out, two dedicated subwoofer outputs, a recording output and a 6.35 mm headphone jack, so the amplifier can feed a second power amplifier, a pair of subwoofers or headphones. Speaker terminals accept bananas, lugs or bare cable, and the HDMI eARC input brings a TV into the system.
Alternatives
Advance Paris also makes the A-i190 NOVA, a larger integrated amplifier that shares the same REM-21 remote.
