Est. year: 1980
Dayens is a family-owned Serbian maker of amplifiers, founded in 1991 in the town of Šabac. The company was started by an electronics engineer during a hard period for the country marked by sanctions and war, and it has stayed small, hand-assembling each unit. Alongside its core amplification Dayens also makes loudspeakers and cables, all designed and built in Serbia.
Range & what it's known for
The catalogue is built mainly around integrated amplifiers. The Ampino, introduced in 2013 with 25 watts per channel into 8 ohms, is the compact entry model, the Menuetto sits above it, and the Ecstasy III, successor to the long-running Ecstasy II, is the top integrated design. Power amplifiers, mono amplifiers and preamplifiers complete the electronics, while the Tizo and Grande Mini monitors show the loudspeaker side. Components are chosen on technical specification and by ear before each unit is assembled by hand.
Who owns it and where it's made
Dayens is a privately held family business with no outside group owner. Design, assembly and testing all happen at the company's base in Šabac, western Serbia, and the firm states that every product is designed and made in Serbia.
The lineup in this catalog
Amplifiers. Prices sit in the middle and upper tiers for small-batch hand-built electronics.
Who it's for
A Dayens amplifier is for the buyer looking for hand-built amplification from a small family workshop and happy to explore a less familiar country of origin. The Ampino is the natural first step for modest speakers and smaller rooms, the Menuetto is the upgrade, and the Ecstasy III or the separate pre and power amplifiers serve those after a fuller system from one maker, including matching speakers and cables.
