Circle Labs is a Polish maker of hybrid valve and transistor amplifiers based in Krakow. Its audio range grew out of a firm that for many years designed and built specialised equipment for microbiology research, and its own Circle Power output circuit is the common thread across the catalogue. The brand presents its hi-fi products as the result of about 25 years of work on amplification by designer Krzysztof Wilczynski, and today it offers integrated, pre, power and phono amplifiers.
Range & what it's known for
The core idea is a hybrid - an ECC88 double triode handles voltage gain, and transistor power stages using the Circle Power circuit deliver high current. The A200 integrated is the current flagship, rated at 120 W into 8 ohms and 200 W into 4 ohms, with a balanced XLR input, three RCA inputs and a pre out. The P300 preamplifier is fully balanced from input to output with minimal internal wiring. The M200 and the larger M500 are stereo power amplifiers that can run bridged as balanced monoblocks. The AS100 is an all-transistor integrated with 65 W into 8 ohms, and the V1000 phono stage takes two MM or MC cartridges, with loading from 10 to 1000 ohms and 0 to 320 pF via an in-house step-up transformer.
Who owns it and where it's made
Circle Labs is a private Polish company registered in Krakow. Engineer Krzysztof Wilczynski designs the circuits, and Krzysztof Lichon covers design and marketing. In 2019 the Circle Power technology was used by another Polish high-end manufacturer for a pair of reference monoblocks, which pushed Circle Labs to sell its own amplifiers to a wider public. Products are designed and built in Poland.
The lineup in this catalog
The catalog lists Circle Labs under amplifiers. Pricing sits in the specialist high-end segment.
Who it's for
Circle Labs makes sense for a listener after valve gain stages without the heat and output limits of a pure tube amplifier. The AS100 is the way in, the A200 adds the ECC88 input stage and more power, and the P300 with an M200 or M500 lets a system grow into separates and later into bridged mono operation. Vinyl users can add the V1000 for two tonearms.
